If you’ve been doing everything you can to hold it all together, managing work, relationships, and responsibilities, and find yourself overwhelmed, stuck, or unable to make sense of it all, you’re not alone and therapy can be a space for you to pause and breathe. Hi! I am Swati and I’m a Senior Clinical Psychologist at Amaha. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based care. My training has included working with a wide range of emotional and relational concerns. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which helps you identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour; Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which combines acceptance and change strategies to build emotional regulation and coping skills; Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), which uses mindfulness practices to reduce stress and prevent relapse; and humanistic approaches that focus on personal growth, self-awareness, and your unique lived experience. I integrate these methods based on what each person needs at the moment. My goal is to create a space that feels steady, safe, and open, where you can show up just as you are. Outside of therapy, I find grounding in music, nature, meaningful conversations, and quiet moments to myself. These are the things that help me show up with clarity and presence both for myself, and for the people I work with.

Why did you choose to become a therapist?

I chose to become a therapist because of my fascination with the human mind and a deep desire to assist others in enhancing their emotional well-being. Growing up, I witnessed the struggles that many face, often in silence, due to the stigma surrounding mental health. This motivated me to create a safe space where individuals can share their stories without fear of judgement. Through my academic journey, I realized that every person has a unique narrative shaped by their experiences. As a therapist, I can empower clients to reclaim their stories and build resilience. It’s incredibly fulfilling to facilitate healing and personal growth, and this commitment drives my passion for this work.
