“In difficult situations, what you wish for is for someone who listens to you attentively with an intent to help you reflect and resolve”
Hi - I’m Snehal, a trained psychologist and mental health practitioner with nearly 2 decades of experience in the Indian mental health landscape. I journey with young adults, adults, couples, families (both biological and chosen), parents, teens and children. I am trained to understand trauma and resilience, be queer- and kink-affirmative, and sex-positive. I see therapy as a collaborative, reflective and relational process. In our therapy space, we can gently explore experiences, emotions, thoughts, bodily sensations, relationships and patterns with curiosity rather than judgment and most importantly, keep the context in mind. The work involves developing greater present-moment awareness and a deeper understanding of oneself. Together, we may explore the impact of adversity and trauma while also recognising the strengths, resilience, wisdom and capacities that have helped you navigate life so far. My hope is that, over time, therapy helps the people I journey with feel better equipped to meet life’s challenges and goals with greater emotional flexibility, self-understanding and self-compassion. I bring to my work the perspectives I have developed through my continuous professional training, my affirmative and intersectional lens, and my many roles and experiences over 47+ years of living. I value creating a therapeutic space where different identities, relationships, choices and ways of being can be explored without shame or judgment. I also am a music lover and am passionate about yoga and origami. Over the years, I have worked as a therapist, helpline counsellor, trainer, supervisor, cofounder and educator in Bangalore and Mumbai based organisations such as Prerana Academy, Parivarthan, Cozyhope, Inventure Academy, Christ College and Fr. Agnels Engg College. My earlier academic training includes a postgraduate degree in Analytical and Medicinal Chemistry.

FAQs
Why did you choose to become a therapist?
In 2009, when I began my training in psychology and counselling, I was exploring the possibility of becoming a therapist and making it my full-time profession. I realised that therapy is rooted in science and evidence-based practice, while also being an art with a great deal of room for creativity. It offered me an opportunity to stay connected with the human-ness within myself and others. I was fascinated by the stories people carried and by the privilege of listening to them. I also realised that the learner in me would always be learning, questioning, and growing. That continuous growth is ultimately what made me choose this profession.
