My love for psychology began a decade and half ago, and I still strive to learn and understand more about the way our minds work. I completed my M.Sc from Christ University and M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from Manipal University. I have been a licensed Clinical Psychologist since 2018. I am passionate about building knowledge as well as clinical skills and so worked as an Assistant Professor in the field from 2018-2021 alongside private practice. I identify my therapy style as a cognitively oriented eclectic approach, drawing from both traditional and third-wave therapies. I am an ISST accredited Schema Therapist, and have additional training in evidence-based therapies such as CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, among others. I believe in pursuing holistic and empowering growth in therapy, and prefer the therapy process to be highly collaborative with the client. I also believe in the therapeutic effects of demystifying psychological issues and so give great importance to psycho-education. Over my practice, I have gained experience in working with all types of anxiety-related issues, emotion regulation and mood-related issues, trauma related issues and personality disorders. I try to tailor treatment plans to meet individual needs and I love to work with young and middle adults. Apart from my passion for psychotherapy, I enjoy indulging in music, art, dance, and the culinary arts.

Why did you choose to become a therapist?

Growing up around people working in the mental health space, sensitivity to psychological issues was inculcated in me from a young age. However, it became a career option only when I encountered abnormal psychology in my undergraduation. I was drawn to it to the extent of altering my academic plan to pursue this field. I realised that the sensitivity that I had the chance to learn was not so common, which further led me to search for a way to contribute to mental health awareness. I found immense gratification and growth during my training, both personally and professionally. It gave me insight into myself, showed different pathways to healing and encouraged me to share this with people looking for help and hope.
