Hello! I’m a Clinical psychologist and my goal is to create a warm, open space where clients can explore their challenges, goals, and unique life stories without fear of judgment. I have completed my M.Phil in clinical psychology from Institute of Psychiatry, Kolkata. I specialize in helping people navigate school and work stress, relationship issues, anxiety, fears and phobias, self-harm, depression, and specific concerns like borderline personality disorder and vaginismus. My approach is queer-affirmative and rooted in creating a space where all identities and experiences are respected. With a background in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), I draw from different methods to build a personalized plan that feels right for each person. I’ve spent the past three and a half years working with people from all walks of life, and my focus has always been to help clients feel more grounded, supported, and ready for change. In our work together, we focus on building resilience and well-being. Outside of work, I like to read books of two main genres- thrillers and rom-coms, as well as watch some reality TV to wind down and relax.

Why did you choose to become a therapist?

Psychology as a subject was always of great interest to me. As I first got my hands on my psychology textbook in high school, I found myself being unable to put it down. Since then, my love for this field only grew. I’ve always been deeply interested in understanding human behavior and what drives people to think, feel, and act in different ways. I’m fascinated by the complexities of the mind and how our past experiences, emotions, and beliefs shape who we are. Being a therapist allows me to help clients explore these aspects, helping them uncover patterns, strengths, and insights about themselves. It’s an incredible experience to witness people gaining clarity and growing into who they want to be, and I’m grateful to be a part of that journey.

My therapist Shruti, Has always portrayed a realistic picture and gave me hope while I imagined the worst case scenario. She is competent, effective, very aware of her professional duties and always holding onto her values, ethics and morals. In the sessions we have seen a lot of ups, downs, hard talks, enjoyable talks, realistic confrontations and much more. The sessions are going great and a lot of work is yet to be done. To conclude, in my 7.5 months of journey she has made me realize *jisse dhunda zamaane mein, mujh hi mein tha*. Looking forward to continuing sessions with Shruti!!- Anonymous
