If you’ve ever thought, “am I too much?” or “Is there something inherently wrong with me?”, you’re not alone. I work with people who’ve been told they’re “complex,” “too sensitive,” or just “difficult”, sometimes (unfortunately) even by other therapists or professionals.
My approach is steady, need-based, flexible, and deeply relational. I don’t believe that just because you are depressed, something is wrong with you. I believe you deserve to be understood, especially in the places where it feels hardest to explain yourself. I hold that therapy is only effective when it is non-judgmental and culturally sensitive, taking into account your social and political contexts as well as their individual experiences and life stories. Therapy with me is less about rushing to solutions, and more about making room for the questions that have been echoing for a long time.
Outside of sessions, I find joy in music, the kind that makes you stop and feel something. I listen to everything and anything (rock, classical, metal, country, you name it!). I believe that says a lot: we’re so diverse, we are not meant to fit into one category. We contain multitudes.
