As a therapist, I believe that our lives are a consequence of a duet between personal choice and circumstance. The problem arises when we surrender to circumstance. Taking a humanistic approach towards healing, I believe that individuals possess the capacity to live meaningful, fulfilling and creative lives. As a therapist, my role lies in helping them manoeuvre through the obstacles that prevent them from realising their true potential. As a licensed Clinical Psychologist, I have been trained to work with a range of different populations and age groups. I’ve completed my MPhil from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, MSc from Christ University and BA (Hons) from Lady Shri Ram College for Women. My interest and experience has allowed me to work effectively with complex trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, stress, abuse, relationship discord, attachment trauma, among others. I primarily rely on a third-wave approach to psychotherapy, ensuring that my sessions are an intricate amalgamation of trauma-informed evidence-based technique and therapeutic skill. I believe I have learnt important aspects of human experience from each of my interactions with clients, and will continue to do so to grow as a therapist and provide better mental health care each day. Apart from psychology, I’m drawn towards music, pets, pilates and pastries!

FAQs
Why did you choose to become a therapist?
Truth be told, I pursued Psychology with the aim of being an educator. I believed the knowledge of the human mind and behaviour would help me connect well with students, make education a gratifying learning experience and help build a bigger community of budding psychologists - which is clearly the need of the hour. While being an educator is still the long term plan, it was only during my clinical training in MPhil when I experienced the true joy of being a therapist. To be able to see human life through 100+ pairs of eyes while playing a small role in making a change in each life has been a fulfilling experience personally and professionally. Specifically, working with trauma and grief drove me towards choosing a life of being a therapist.

"Sarandha has been my only therapist in my six-year-long battle who has managed to stick by me for over a year now. That itself speaks volumes about her, but i will elaborate for those who are obviously unaware of my struggle.
She has been very accomodative of my haywire mood, she has been extremely collaborative about what is working for me and what is not. She goes an extra mile for her clients.
I could easily say that she is the only person who knows everything about me in such detail and has still never judged me.
The space she holds for me has been the safest one ever. I have had horrible experiences with therapists as well, which is why I was extremely reluctant to restart therapy properly again. But she is the reason I started to believe in the other side of the coin where therapy experiences can also be good.
I don't think words would do justice to explain how helpful she can be. Book a session and see for yourself!
