In life, we are striving toward happiness and growth. Therapy is like a map. It can make you feel a little less lost, more grounded whether you come from a place of pain or self-improvement. Therapy strengthens your relationship with yourself. Getting to know yourself deeply is often more rewarding and healing than you expect.
I provide a safe, non-judgemental space rooted in empathy. In addition to considering where you are, I want to understand where you are coming from. I want to create space for your lived experiences. I make space for you to be messy or uncertain, and we will figure it out together. Therapy is a collaborative process. I take time to understand your concerns, and based on those, I draw from psychodynamic therapy to explore how past experiences shape your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours; Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy to gently question unhelpful beliefs; and humanistic principles, which hold that you already carry the capacity for change, and with acceptance and support, that potential can unfold.
Outside therapy, you will often find me reading books, geeking out about movies, going on long tangents about Greek philosophy, and playing a lot of board games.
