I've always possessed the desire to help others, but the ideal way to do so remained unclear—that is, until I discovered psychology in my adolescent years. The discipline embodied everything I was passionate about, and learning more about it, along with the stigma and lack of resources surrounding mental health, ignited in me a desire to contribute to mental health advocacy and care in any way—big or small—that I possibly could.
