I offer mental health care for individuals aged 8–25.
My name is Priya Ahluwalia, I am a psychologist in the Mental Health Team at Children First. I have completed my Master’s in Clinical Psychology from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. I have been working with young people in therapy for the last several years, and through this shared journey. I have learned that people can be wonderfully resilient and resourceful. They rally up their courage and strength in even the toughest of times. Over the years, I have developed an eclectic approach to working with clients, and my constant hope is to create a safe therapeutic space for my clients, which invites us to explore different facets of their lives. I have previously worked with victims of sexual violence and have experience in victim assistance, as well as community-based counseling. At present, I hope to work with young people as they navigate through experiences of depression, anxiety, trauma, body image, difficulty in relationships, and friendships, among others.

FAQs
Why did you choose to become a therapist?
Growing up I was always curious about what makes people react the way they do, I was always quietly listening to people's stories in the hope that I will figure out what's going on in their mind. This is how I stumbled upon my first psychology book which led to more books and more degrees. Throughout the years of study, I continue to hold onto the curiosity of listening to people tell their life stories.
