I'm a clinical mental health counselor with a broad background of experience and have worked with Depression, Anxiety, Personality Disorders, Trauma and Addictions as well as non-clinical areas like wellness, mindfulness and behavior modification. I believe in equality and balance between client and counselor and work with the core idea that the therapeutic journey is a shared experience. I work with therapies like Solution Focused Brief Therapy, CBT and REBT as well as some influences from other trauma informed and person-centered approaches. In my past experience, I've predominantly worked with adults and young adult concerns. In my free time I'm an avid hobbyist and enjoy pop culture, tabletop gaming, and reading.
While I entered the field of Psychology out of academic and personal curiosity, I learnt I wanted to became a therapist after starting my first psychology job at a crisis hotline. There I learnt of the good that this work could bring to others, the needs of an underserved mental health system and the need for emotional support. After that, my committment solidified through my experiences in my Masters under my mentors and teachers.
