Hi, I work as a Psychologist at Amaha. I completed my Masters in Counselling Psychology from Christ University. I believe that developing compassion towards oneself, one’s experiences and others helps to deal with challenges that life throws at us. I have worked with individuals experiencing difficulties with anxiety, mood, relationship, procrastination, and other intrapersonal concerns related to self-esteem and emotional expression. My primary approach is client-centered, which acknowledges that the client knows their life and experiences the best, and has and can develop the strength to make their choices. In sessions, I use an eclectic approach, where I borrow strategies from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness and Emotion Focused Therapy to best address my client’s needs. Moreover, I aim to develop an understanding of all the different factors that contribute to their concerns, whether personal, social, or cultural, that can aid in making sense of their experiences. Outside work, I am a person who approaches things with an attitude of curiosity. I tend to question the role of power in society a lot. I also spend my time watching K-dramas and horror movies, playing video games like Call of Duty, and crocheting.

FAQs
FAQs
Why did you choose to become a therapist?

My own experiences with mental health pushed me to observe and ask a lot of questions about the status of mental health and seeking support in India. I wish for psychological help to be not just available, but also accessible, especially attitudinally. This motivates me to be a part of the therapist community, to provide a space to people where seeking help for concerns becomes a part of life.

"I've been seeing Nekita at Amaha for a few months now, and I truly appreciate her attentive listening and insightful guidance. She suggests practical techniques that have been incredibly helpful, and the homework assignments she provides are especially valuable. Her advice has already had a positive impact on my life, helping me become more aware of patterns in my thinking. I've also made significant progress toward my short-term goals and look forward to continuing this journey with her as I work toward both my short-term and long-term aspirations."- Google Review
