Through my journey in the field of psychology, I have understood and grown to appreciate myself as a deeply empathetic, sensitive, and patient individual. I believe every person to be capable and have a wish towards reducing their suffering and have a mindful experience of life, even when undergoing negative experiences. I see my role as a therapist to facilitate an environment where this capacity of the person may be harnessed. Throughout my journey as a therapist, I have worked with individuals having concerns such as depression, anxiety, OCD, alcohol, and other substance abuse problems as well as interpersonal difficulties, sexuality-related difficulties, body image concerns, and individuals on a quest for better self-awareness.
I work with a client-centered approach to therapy and include techniques from CBT, narrative, and interpersonal schools of therapy. I find satisfaction in collaborating with clients towards a goal of self-discovery and self-acceptance, as my own journey in psychology has helped me on this quest, which continues every day. I enjoy literature and gaining perspectives on life experience from various mediums such as books, movies, poetry as well as interacting with people every day. In my free time, I enjoy cooking as I see food as an expression of love, comfort, and personality of the individual who creates it.

FAQs
Why did you choose to become a therapist?
My journey in psychology was a result of interest and curiosity regarding my own self and about the diverse reactions, I witnessed people had in reaction to a similar situation. Since then, it has instilled the belief in me that no reaction in effect to a situation is ever right or wrong and consolidated in me a leaning towards giving utmost importance to the individual's own meaning-making regarding a phenomenon he or she faces. I found myself to have a bend towards understanding deeply emotional experiences of individuals while also holding an objective standpoint when called upon to present my own opinion.
Witnessing the people I was surrounded by open up to me about their experiences gave me immense satisfaction and further strengthened my choice of becoming a therapist to be contributive to the best of my ability.
