“Are the words that come to our lips when we speak of our suffering ever purely our own?” Maybe, maybe not. The images we were sold of freedom robbed us of our context and communion. And left us with this responsibility to “fix” our lives. If you've ever wondered how all the emotional regulation is going to help you when you're back in the environment that brought the suffering in the first place, then maybe we could talk. My educational background and training grants me a theoretical grounding to approach you and your inner world with an awareness of the external world you’re a part of. This means that the work will be personal and contextual. I welcome you to a space that is aware of the psycho-socio-political realities, and where you could engage with yourself in ways you might want or might avoid. Work with me would entail conversations that go beyond the ‘this is what’, ‘this is why’ and such. We would often sit with what might not seem to be in the room. We would invite what seems beyond our vocabulary and language. And all this while we'll try to echo the realities that you have lived, thrived or suffered through. We acknowledge the systems that shape your life. And we'll try to make room for what you desire, wish, pray and mourn. While doing this, I rely on an intersectional lens, which means I carry a strong belief that therapy is always empowering and anti-oppression. I draw from psychodynamic understanding which basically means that the work would be relational and situated in the context you were brought and raised in. Nothing about you without you. Outside work I enjoy spending time with my people, reading, and having conversations that help me question the power structures that envelop me. Occasionally, one also might find me trying some art and crafts with much passion but little talent.

Why did you choose to become a therapist?

At the risk of sounding too dreamy I would say the work chose me. The simple pleasures of listening, sharing and being has made life more lifelike. Not to forget the contentment of holding the parts people choose to share with their therapists. The joys, the vulnerabilities, the stories, the unspeakable. I always wished to be an artist, and it is believed this work lies at the intersection of art and science, so I get to do what I always wished to. Be theoretically grounded while maintaining novelty and making room for the uniqueness each person brings.
