If it feels like anxiety is always running in the background; or you can’t relax anymore while juggling everything; or you find yourself reacting in the same ways despite intending otherwise, therapy could help explore these experiences. Often, it also takes time and back-and-forth while considering therapy. Questions like “Are my problems enough to seek support?”, “Is therapy going to help?”, “Is this person suitable to help me?” may arise. Therapy doesn't have to be a crisis call or merely focus only on what's "wrong." Therapy can also be like a psychological gym: a dedicated space to reflect on your life, strengthen your emotional regulation skills with support; or it could be the extra emotional support many of us wish we had during stressful periods. It could be the kitchen in which you have room for your bitter, sweet, salty, sour as well as umami, so that you can balance them to your taste in your dishes. Therapy can offer support in different ways, and we can together discuss what works for you. I work with concerns around well-being, stress management, relational concerns, self-improvement, life transitions, academic concerns, work-related concerns and concerns around substance use. My approach to therapy is foundationally person-centered while integrating the trauma-informed perspective. In our work together, you would decide what needs to be discussed and how much has to be shared. Sure, I will have curiosities, especially about the person beyond the concern, but it's your choice to answer them then, later or to skip it. Hopefully, the sense of safety we create together helps you express your feelings while being a bit more at ease. Over time, this sense of steadiness may extend beyond therapy for you to carry within wherever you go. In my free time, you will see me being amused by my lame sense of humour, often referring to reels in my conversations and finding joy in hobbies that I change like metro lines. Whether or not you're ready to begin therapy, I appreciate you for taking a moment to pause and consider your mental health.

Why did you choose to become a therapist?

I have always been fond of reflecting on life as it goes by, as well as being part of that process for others around me. Somewhere in those conversations, I realised how seemingly simple things like being listened to, being seen, and being understood can feel so magically fulfilling. During my training, I also realised that these very things can also make a meaningful difference in a person’s life. This is what brought me to becoming a therapist.
