12 years of experience

I am a feminist-humanistic-existential therapist. My approach is relational and integrative (assimilative) that is attuned to the embodied experiences of clients while also looking at the impact of the larger systems on these experiences. I have completed my MPhil in Clinical Psychology from Manipal Academy of Higher Education in 2016 and MSc in Psychology from Sampurna Montfort College in 2013. I have worked in diverse settings (hospitals, clinics, academic institutions and private practice) during my 7 years in the mental health field. I work with a diverse set of adult clients and I see couples who are together for less than 5 years. Some of the modalities I am trained in include, ACT, DBT, MBT, Compassionate Inquiry, mindfulness based interventions, trauma informed therapy , art based interventions, family constellation work. I am committed to ethically sound practice through regular supervision with peers and mentors. I am a curious person and enjoy trying new things. My newest adventures are hiking and training as an aerialist. My constants are cooking, dancing and reading.

Why did you choose to become a therapist?

How did it start? Connections have and continue to be a continuous theme in my life growing up. I value and treasure the relationships who made a difference in my life and all who continue to make me a better therapist. So, right out of high school, I knew I wanted to train to be a therapist. I enjoy listening to people's life’s stories, naturally forming close relationships with people and they feel secure and comforted in my presence. How is it going? It has been and continues to be an honour to witness an individual’s growth. There are moments in therapy that bring a feeling of warmth and a sense of purpose. It is the moment of seeing the transformation of clients, who do the hard work and evolve from a place of loneliness and overwhelm to emerging as an individual with an empowered mindset, at peace and living with authenticity. So far, it’s been an expansive journey and I see myself doing it for a long time!
