Hi, I am a Psychologist with Amaha. I have completed my Masters in Applied Psychology from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. I have experience working in a variety of settings, from government hospitals, to NGOs helping individuals address various concerns such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, grief, relationship problems, and academic/career stress, among many others. While I am oriented towards CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Narrative Therapy, and process work, I follow an eclectic approach to therapy, choosing from a variety of modalities based on the needs of the client. I believe in the power of the therapeutic process, and that no matter what one’s story, there is always a possibility of change and healing right around the corner. Things can be hard sometimes, but I’m always trying to appreciate the small joys in life. Outside of work, I’m passionate about music, poetry, and a good cup of coffee on a rainy day.

FAQs
Why did you choose to become a therapist?
Listening has always come easy to me. Since a young age, I was always fascinated by people, and invested in the emotions they shared. For a long time, I was unaware about the field of mental health, but my exploration in the world of psychology, the guidance of some amazing mentors, and my own positive experience with therapy, helped me realise how magical this work is. I truly believe the world today needs mental health support more than ever, and I realised that I would like to use my privileges and resources to make some change.

I began working with Amaan during a period of immense change, and his support has been truly transformative. His calm presence, deep attentiveness and ability to remember and connect the smallest details make him exceptional. His wise, evidence-based guidance has helped me manage anxiety and self-doubt, quieten my negative inner voice, and feel more confident and hopeful. I leave every session feeling lighter, grounded and in control, and cannot recommend him highly enough.- Anonymous
