Dr. Anjali Prakash is a Bengaluru-based psychiatrist who believes that good mental health care begins with feeling truly heard. She completed her postgraduate training in Psychiatry from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal – where she was honoured with two gold medals for Best Outgoing Postgraduate Resident and Best Performance in the qualifying examinations. She subsequently worked at St. John's Medical College Hospital, Bengaluru, before joining Amaha.
She brings experience working with individuals across a wide spectrum – from everyday mental health concerns to complex psychiatric conditions. Her areas of clinical interest span general adult psychiatry (including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, and schizophrenia) and liaison psychiatry (psychodermatology and psychosomatic medicine). She also actively contributes to mental health research and has published in the field.
At the heart of her practice is a simple belief: that every person deserves care that is tailored to who they are. She brings warmth, curiosity, and evidence-based thinking to every session – creating a space where clients feel safe to be honest, and supported to heal.

FAQs
Why did you choose to become a psychiatrist?
Psychiatry stood out for resisting a one-size-fits-all approach. It is a field that encourages unconventional thinking and rewards genuine curiosity – about the mind, behaviour, and the person behind the symptoms. A natural inclination towards meaningful human interaction made it the most compelling specialty to pursue.
