I offer psychiatric services for individuals up to the age of 25.
I am a Director and Co-Founder of Children First, working as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for over 30 years. I completed my medical degree from AFMC Pune, followed by an MD in Psychiatry from NIMHANS Bangalore, MRCPsych in the UK, and further specialisation in child and adolescent psychiatry in Newcastle, UK. Beyond clinical work, my primary interests lie in service development, community outreach, and advocacy”. After working and training in various Govt. and Non-Govt organisations in India and the UK, Amit has conceptualised and created dynamic and culture-specific child mental health care models. I am a TEDx speaker and trainer, have presented at numerous national and international conferences, written chapters in books, and published research in peer-reviewed journals.
Living with ADHD has given me a unique perspective on mental health, allowing me to connect deeply with the children and families I work with. I firmly believe that with the right support and understanding, young lives can be transformed, and I am committed to making a meaningful difference, no matter how small, in the lives of the children and adolescents I work with.
