Dr. Ahmed graduated with an MD in Psychiatry from MGIMS, Sevagram in 2022, followed by a one-year tenure as a Senior Resident at the same institution. During this time, he gained experience working with individuals dealing with various mental health challenges, including stress, burnout, anxiety, sleep disorders, sexual dysfunctions, as well as severe psychiatric conditions such as Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). His treatment philosophy emphasizes a comprehensive approach, utilizing psychotherapy, medication, or a combination of both to help individuals achieve their mental health goals. He believes in the biopsychosocial model of disease and that interventions require a team approach with psychotherapists and other experts. Empathy and compassion are the principles he follows to build a therapeutic alliance with his patients in order to help them enhance their resilience and coping strategies to bring about a positive change in their lives.

FAQs
Why did you choose to become a psychiatrist?
The subject of the human mind has always been intriguing. It's the most complex organ of the body and it is interesting to understand the deep workings of the mind. Mental health has a profound impact on an individual's overall well-being and how mental health issues can affect anyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. As a psychiatrist it is a privilege to be able to help people during their times of distress. Mental health struggles can be incredibly isolating and debilitating, and the opportunity to provide support, understanding, and treatment to those in need is an honor for a psychiatrist. It's deeply rewarding to witness the positive changes in patients' lives as they navigate their way to better mental health and well-being.
Ultimately, choosing psychiatry allows us to combine our passion for understanding the human mind with the chance to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges.
