Therapy is like learning a set of life skills very similar to swimming. And it's essential to find a place and a person who can help you build it safely. I believe that therapy works best when you feel safe, connected, understood and heard. Everyone is exceptionally unique. This realisation has made me carve out my therapeutic space. It's flexible and holistic. There is genuine openness to conversations and room for disagreements, scepticism and feedback. I have completed my training in clinical psychology from The National Forensic Sciences University (2017). In the course of my training and experience, I have helped clients deal with anxiety and depressive disorders, OCD, ADHD and personality difficulties. I am a certified Queer Affirmative therapist, who is an ardent advocate for community/minority rights and passionate about working with clients with LGBTQIA+ concerns. My therapeutic skill set revolves around third wave Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention and Mindfulness Based techniques. I adapt them to suit each person’s needs, strengths, and goals. I see therapy as a shared journey where we make sense of challenges together and work towards meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, singing, listening to music, and travelling - things that help me recharge and stay present and grounded.

FAQs
FAQs
Why did you choose to become a therapist?

I always felt very curious about the thoughts and perceptions of others and loved listening to them. As early as I can remember, I have felt a natural shift towards helping people in distress. Also, there were numerous personal experiences which made me aware of the stigma around mental health. This gave me a passionate push towards generating mental health awareness and making it as accessible in the community.

"Miss Kinnari has been my therapist for quite sometime. I have been to therapy in the past as well , but this platform AMAHA is different. I was struggling a lot with negative emotions, anxious feelings and constant stress both in professional and presonal life. I was not able to see my worth and sometimes not able to validate my feelings . Ms Kinnari - she is very patient, non judgemental, never just says everything positive just because I am her client. She makes me understand what I am going through, how I can be there for myself, how to be kind, how to unapologetically stand for oneself. She as a person. I mean the way she presents herself made me realise how u can be true, confident, taking care of oneself, and ethical. She makes me search myself for appropriate answers ,now I am able to acknowledge myself better and am more aware of how to deal with myself. It’s a continuous process how dealing with life and hardstuff but not to exagerrate, AMAHA and Ms Kinnari have created that safe space for me. I am extremely grateful ." - Bhanu
